I have this virus i think
It has made my computer wallpaper say :
“YOUR PRIVACY IS IN DANGER
Download Privacy Protection Software” and every time you click on the wallpaper a website pops up
Every so often, the bottom tool bar disappears, then i get a message from Norton Anti-Virus (The anti-virus i use) that it has blocked Trojan Horse! Is that the virus?]
I have scanned my computer several times, and it doesn’t find anything!
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks

Which Anti-Virus Software and Security Suite is the best?
Posted by admin under Software[15] Comments
Which Anti Virus Software, Anti-Spyware,Anti-malware, Firewall and Security Suite is the best? and which Anti-Virus Software,Anti-Spyware,Anti-malware, Firewall and Security Suite has the biggest market share and what percentage of market share does it have?
I am thoroughly confused, all answers are equally good but all are contradictory to each other and I seem to be stuck at square zero.

PC error message: TASK SYSTEM. Failed to load control ‘PiracyProtectorOCX. Help?
Posted by admin under Software1 Comment
I recenty started to get this error message when XP home edition loads.
“Failed to load control ‘PiracyProtectorOCX’ from . Your version of may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application”
I suspect it was some type of spyware that got removed and somehow damage the XP registry.
I ALREADY TRIED:
Doing a system restore
Restoring from back up
running several differente flavors of Anti-spyware program
Adware 6.0
Microsoft Anti-Spyware beta
yahoo Anti-Spyware
Zone alar Anti-spyware
Norton Antivirus-Anti-spyware firewall.
Registry Mechanic etc.
None of this work. Someone recommended Registry Killer. I never heard of it nor I could find it.
I STILL MIGHT TRY:
Doing a XP Repair booting with the XP CD and selecting R etc.
and reformating the drive… but before I go that route….
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and most importantly…. how they got ride of it.
Thanks in advance

Norton Internet Security 2007 Adware.SystemProcess false alert due to SpywareBlaster. (Need Help)!?
Posted by admin under Security[5] Comments
Last night 11.10.07 my Norton Internet Security started detecting Adware.Systemprocess. Well Norton detected it and kept saying it removed it, but it kept coming back regardless. Well I dececided to rebuild my computer from a clean image I had, but the problem came back and showed up on my dad’s computer as well. Well we narrowed it down to a program called Spyware Blaster we use that when fully enabled protection is on Norton give a false alert for Adware.Systemprocess. With protection disabled the false alert goes away. Another guy had answered my question about how to get rid of it and he had the exact same problem with Spyware Blaster and so did my dad so we know it’s a false alert and it only happened after Norton updated itself 11/10/07. I want to know is there a way to resolve this glitch a patch or something? If you enable all protection Norton will disable 6 items protection in Spyware Blaster and say it is Adware.Systemprocess as a false alert. Any fixes?

Okay, so a few days ago, my computer picked up something; my best guess is that whatever it is, it came from one of many zip files I downloaded for work within the last week.
(If you want know, I have an eMachine T2891 running Windows XP Pro and 1.5GB memory).
I started getting annoying pop-ups, so I set my pop-up blocker and the Internet Options Security control to the highest levels, still no change.
Then I started getting the most screwed up thing; when I would have several explorer pages open, and then shut one off, the screen would “blink”and my Start and Taskbar would completely disappear! I can see the desktop pic under the still remaining page(s) that’s open. If I close the open pages, it only shows me my desktop picture, no icons of any sort. So then I have to do a hard shutdown and reboot the computer.
I’ve always been running Norton, but it say’s nothings wrong – Bleeping thing!
I perused Yahoo Answers and found some tips in old postings. So I downloaded AVG (free one) and also, Avast! 4.7
I ran both of them (yes, at different times) and they both found all types of crap and fixed/deleted the items, but nothing they’ve done has changed this particular problem.
*Also, on another note, related or not, but occurred in the same timeline, my Taskbar icons (when it’s visible) show one “empty space “ in-between the other icons, when I right click on it, it shows its Norton Antivirus, but I’ll be darned if I can get the icon to show.
I’m not sure if AVG or Avast! are just virus killers or do they stop Adware, or spy stuff too?
So, any ideas? Do I need to download some other type of additional “killer”?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I have 1.5GB RAM.
and a 60GB internal HD and a 325GB External HD.
