spyware
giorgio777 asked:

I tried the free scanning versions (Spyboot Search & Distroy; Spyware Doctor; XoftSpySE; Windows Defender; Windows One Care; Advance Spyware Remover, Webroot, RegCure, Registry Booster) but not one of them identified ALL the spyware in my nootebook. And I don’t want to buy all of them in order to be able to protect my notebook from spyware.
So..what is the anti spyware software with the LARGEST SPYWARE DATABASE and most efficient cleaning (including the registry cleaning) ?
I alo tried Bit Defender Total Security 2008, Yahoo Ani Spy, Kaspersky Antivirus 2007, ESET antivirus but no meaningful and comprehensive detection results.
Questions to Chris’ answer :
1. Can you give me de detailed instructions to remove that malicious entry from theregistry?
2. Can you give me de detailed instructions for backing-up my registry before dealing with the removal of that malicious entry?
(of course, anybody who can answers there quoestions is most wellcomed to do it)

remove virus
Deke Dean asked:

Yesterday, A friend of mine gave me a bootleg copy of the 300 movie, from his hard disk to mine. I watched it on windows media player and it worked fine. But today every time i turned on the computer, a blue screen pops up with a message about BAD POOL. Thus I used the xp disk to repair windows and is now working fine. I know for sure the movie is infected but my Mcaffee virus protector cant detect it. Any way to remove it without removing the movie?

virus computer
NatGat asked:

Hi friends,
Plz help me to solve this problem.
My friend’s Computer was infected with virus in his PC named “msn.exe”, it copies itself automatically to PEN DRIVE or FLOPPIES.
So, to solve his problem i hav copied that virus file to my machine.I thought that removing some processes & registry entries the virus can be destroyed. But it has not happened. The virus file “MSN.exe ” is now on every drive.

I have another operating system WIndows 98 on My machine. If any virus creates problem in Windows XP which can not be deleted from XP then i can directly delete from windows 98 & i hav done this before.
But ths virus has copied itself on all drives on computer includig drive on which Win98 is installed. After that virus infection to Win XP i hav yet not opened Win98.

So, if i open Win 98 , i can remove the virus file from WinXP system folder. But i m confused, b’caz as virus file is also copied on Win 98 installton drive, can it infect Win 98 when i open Windows98.

I have Kaspersky antivirus installed on my new computer. However, is it enough to protect my computer. I do use internet alot and I want an efficient protection. I was thinking firewall, anti-malware, anti-spyware, e-mail protection. Basically, what all do I need to get???

apparently i odnt have much virus protection on my computer, and i have alot of spyware piling up. Rigth now i can’t really get into my web browser (im on a different comp now). This thing kind of automatically installed called “winantivirus pro 2007″, which scanend my comp and told me i have viruses, but requires me to pay to remove them.

I tried to install spybot search and destroy for free, but it said that the spyware was blocking it and that i should use winantivirus pro 2007 to remove them. I treid opening my wb browser, but it didnt work. It’s restarting now..

what should i do?

phishing
Mike N asked:

I have been hit with 3 phishing emails this month. I have received a phony eBay, Paypal and Bank of Montreal emails asking for sensitive information. The only reason that I am sure that the bank of montreal email was a fake is because I do not bank with them. The email clearly stated that if I didn’t log into my account to update my information than my account would be terminated. Sounds kinda phishy!

I just wanted to know who I should contact about this. Phishing must be illegal so there must be authority when it comes to internet crime.

I want to contact an organization that will do something about this person instead of just giving him/her a slap on the wrist so that they can continue ripping people off. Jail time and fines is what I want to see.
eBay and PayPal confirmed that the emails I received with their logo and letterhead where indeed fake.

My norton utilities and internet security didn’t catch it and now i constantly get fake alerts and warnings popping up telling me my computer is infected with adware and spyware. I’ve been told this type is called betrayware but I don’t know how to rid my computer of it. Can anybody advise me of free software I can download to coexist with my norton that will wipe out what’s causing this?
