adware protection

virus computer
JJ S asked:

Serious Answers only Please!
1.) Why do people create a virus- are they just being mean, or do they have a point to get across to the world (because I don’t get the point if that’s the case)

2.) When you have a virus in your Windows System Volume Information, why can’t you delete it like you can from other places by going into My Computer and deleting the file?

3.) If you have an anti-virus program that you paid for, how does a virus slip by it anyway, and why do you have to pay the virus protection company extra to help you get it off when it was their software that was supposed to keep the virus off?

4.) Why does a virus slow a computer down?

I hope someone can answer these for me- thank you in advance!

phishing
JhLw asked:

If you don’t know what phishing is then please don’t answer my question(s). So here’s the question(s): Why does my virus protection detect phishing every time I go on my page? And how do I make it stop?

Well I got a few phished comments from a few of my friends..a few comments with a fake $500 coupon and the others with a picture of a half naked girl on a fake youtube video capture. I erased the comments & told those friends to change their passwords, and I changed mine also. but every time I click on ‘view profile’ the virus protection keeps saying “phishing detected”. I have McAfee so it makes this loud “DING” noise everytime it detects something. Its becoming so annoying! it even does it when I try to view my new comments!

Someone told me if I changed my layout that it should go away…so i deleted my layout..i had no layout for a whole day almost & still no luck..my account isn’t phished or myspace would block me until I change my password! so whats the problem?

krishnamuroor asked:

I am using AMD athlon 32 bit PC running Windows XP SP 2. Earlier whenever i stop a USB device, a small message “it is now safe to remove your hardware” would appear near the task tray. Also i could hear a sound. But now i am able to hear the sound but not the message. Situation is same for windows security alerts as well as desktop cleanup utility. Waiting for some solution
The solution given by Having_Fun_At_Work is not working. Still i could here the sound

 malware
C. F asked:

I have Windows Vista on my new laptop. I was looking in the Security center and of the four lights 3 are green and the one next to malware it red, saying it’s off. When i click the turn on now (which i assume is what i want to protect my computer) nothing happens. When i go through “show me available options” it gives me the options to monitor it myself or not monitor. I click monitor myself and the light turns orange, and says it is not being monitored. And if i click monitor now it turns red again… what do i do to have the best protection on my computer?
